Dear Friends,
As we share Pardee Hospital Foundation’s 2024-2025 Annual Report, I am filled with gratitude for what we accomplished together this past year. Each page reflects your generosity, compassion, and belief in the power of community.
Thanks to your support, we expanded programs like Women Helping Women, invested in our teammates’ professional growth through the Circle of Caring Scholarship, and provided comfort and essential resources to patients through the Essentials Program. Together we stood strong after Hurricane Helene, ensuring our hospital teammates had the support they needed so they could continue to care for our community in the most difficult of times.
These stories are a testament to what is possible when we come together. But they also remind us that our work is never finished. |

It will be a time to honor our past, reflect on the impact we’ve made together, and look forward to the next chapter of service and innovation. I invite you to read our Annual Report and see how your support has touched lives across Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania counties. Most of all, I want to thank you for being a partner in this work. “Only 32% of Americans have a legal will.”
If you were given $10,000—or even $10 million, wouldn’t you want to decide how to use it? Of course you would. Yet without a will or beneficiary designations, those decisions are taken out of your hands.
Even icons like Prince, Bob Marley, Pablo Picasso, and Princess Diana passed without legal wills. Their estates faced years of disputes, and assets often weren’t used in ways that matched their passions. Imagine the lost opportunities for music, healthcare, education, and global philanthropy because a few papers were never completed. You have the power to write a different story. By establishing a will or making a planned gift, you decide how your legacy will live on. At Pardee Hospital Foundation, planned gifts directly support local healthcare, expanding cancer care, strengthening women’s health, advancing lifesaving technology, and ensuring compassionate care for generations to come. Your estate, no matter the size, can reflect your values and create lasting change in the community you love. It only takes a little planning today to make a difference for years to come. Don’t leave your legacy to chance. Ensure your interests become your impact by including Pardee Hospital Foundation in your plans.

UNC Health Pardee Opens ALS Clinic to Expand Neurological Care
UNC Health Pardee is proud to announce the opening of a dedicated Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Clinic, the first multidisciplinary clinic of its kind in the region. This specialized clinic brings together neuromuscular neurologists, respiratory therapy, speech-language pathology, nutrition, physical and occupational therapy, and social work to provide comprehensive, coordinated care for individuals living with ALS.
Led by Dr. Hannah Machemehl, a neuromuscular neurologist with specialized ALS expertise, and supported by Dr. Ben Rardin, the clinic is designed to meet the unique needs of patients and their families while minimizing travel burdens. Currently, over 130 ALS patients in western North Carolina travel more than 90 minutes for care—now they can access holistic support close to home.
This important expansion of services was made possible in part through the efforts of the Pardee Hospital Foundation, which helped secure funding from the ALS Association’s Hoffman ALS Clinic Development Awards program. Through philanthropy, the Foundation continues to play a vital role in advancing specialized care and expanding services for patients in our community. The ALS Clinic is located at Pardee Neurology Associates, 2775 Hendersonville Rd., Suite 250, Arden, and operates once a month.
For more information about the ALS Clinic and its team, call 828-694-4552 or visit pardeehospital.org. |
