Pardee Hospital Foundation Enhances Team with Three New Additions

Pardee Hospital Foundation has welcomed three new members to its growing team – Andrew Schmidt, Callie Davis, and Matthew Kemper.

Andrew Schmidt assumes the role of Donor Engagement Officer, bringing a wealth of experience from his previous position as an Advancement Analyst at the Kanuga Conference Center. In his previous role, Schmidt supported a $15 Million capital campaign to renovate the historic Kanuga Lake Inn.

Expressing enthusiasm about joining Pardee Hospital Foundation, Schmidt stated, “I look forward to utilizing my skills and experience to contribute to the mission of UNC Health and Pardee Hospital Foundation, particularly in Transylvania County.”

Matthew Kemper also joins the staff as the other Donor Engagement Officer, bringing a diverse background in orthopedics, automotive, and information technology. Holding a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana State University and a Master’s Degree in Project Management from Western Carolina University, Kemper expressed his alignment with Pardee’s mission, saying, “The mission at Pardee matches my appreciation of what the community can do and respect for what healthcare offers everyone. I look forward to being a caring conduit of connecting people and philanthropy.”

With 15 years of business development, marketing, and communications experience in both non-profit and for-profit sectors, Callie Davis assumes the Marketing and Communications Manager position. Reflecting on her journey with Pardee Hospital Foundation, Davis shared, “My appreciation for the Women Helping Women program initially drew me to this organization. I admire the commitment of the people behind the program in supporting women in the community during times of crisis.”

Amy Treece, the Foundation’s Executive Director, expressed confidence in the new additions, stating, “We are confident that Andrew, Callie, and Matthew will play integral roles in advancing the mission of Pardee UNC Health, and we look forward to the positive impact they will undoubtedly have on our community.”

The Foundation anticipates the collective expertise of the new team members will contribute significantly to the ongoing success and growth of Pardee Hospital Foundation.

Andrew Schmidt

Andrew Schmidt joined Pardee Hospital Foundation in November 2023 as a Donor Engagement Officer. Andrew began his career in fundraising at his alma mater, Sewanee: The University of the South, as an assistant director in charge of reunions and volunteers, working on milestone giving campaigns as well as alumni engagement and stewardship events. Andrew holds a BA in Philosophy from Sewanee and recently earned a MA in Applied Arts & Sciences from the Liberal and Interdisciplinary Studies program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Andrew previously served the Henderson Country community as an Advancement Analyst at nearby Kanuga Conference Center, where he was responsible for donor database administration, prospect research, and raising funds in support of a $15M capital campaign centered on a comprehensive renovation of the then-47-year-old Kanuga Lake Inn. Andrew looks forward to helping advance the mission of UNC Health and Pardee Hospital Foundation across the Western North Carolina region, and particularly in Transylvania County. When he’s not out and about visiting with donors, you can usually find Andrew scampering around DuPont and Pisgah with his wife, Sara, preschool-age son, Arthur, and new-born son, Rhodes.
