Delivering Concussion Monitoring Helmets to Henderson County High School Football Programs.
On a daily basis, Pardee athletic trainers perform evaluations, treatments and rehab programs in 20 middle and high schools, serving over 16,500 students in Henderson County and 4 surrounding counties. With high school football reported to be the sport with the greatest proportion of concussions, Pardee Sports Medicine’s Concussion Helmet Initiative is making a strong impact on the safety of these athletes.
Riddell Concussion Monitoring helmets provide immediate feed-back to a trainer on the field and one in the media box and alert these professionals when a possible concussion has occurred. An injured player is immediately evaluated and treated by a medical professional.
As a result of the Pardee Hospital Foundation Cornhole Tournament held in April, along with direct appeals to the community, over $8,500 has been raised to date! A recent one-day online giving campaign raised even more money for additional helmets.
A gift of $500 buys a helmet!! Our GOAL is to supply 12 Helmets to each high school. Every gift helps!!
