Foundation's History of Giving

• Surgical Services Expansion Campaign raises $2.3 million toward the $8 million construction project which includes four new operating suites, new laboratory, and pathology pharmacy facilities.
• Major funding ($4.8 million) toward the $10.5 million emergency department expansion;
• Over $360,000 raised to support mammograms and breast screening services for women with limited financial resources, through the initiatives of the Women Helping Women Committee.
• $500,000 toward the purchase of a new linear accelerator for radiation treatment.
• Grants to hospital departments for new equipment and programs.
• Pardee Care Center - a 130 bed nursing and rehab facility;
• Pardee Pavilion - an adult day health program serving up to 50 frail elderly per day. The facility is located opposite the campus of Blue Ridge Community College;
• Improvements and enhancements to the telemetry and ICU units.

• Raised $394,000 for the relocation of nationally recognized cardio rehabilitation services.

As a county-owned facility, all persons are provided healthcare in the most efficient, quality, cost-effective manner possible. The reduction in Medicare reimbursements and increasing growth in our population, puts a greater demand on the hospital staff and physicians to provide the services each of you wants and needs.
