PARDEE Hospital hosted the annual Volunteer Services Celebration Dinner October 9th to honor the dedicated men and women who fulfill a vital role in the quality care of our patients. They enjoyed an evening of food and fellowship and twenty five volunteers were recognized for specific hours achieved, starting at 500 hours.
Karla Reese, manager of Volunteer Services, Pardee CEO Jay Kirby, and Mary Spon, chairperson for Volunteer Services welcomed the honorees. Vice President of Clinical Services Denise Lucas shared her message of thanks. Sarah Hinson presented information about the Pardee at Work program, and Dr. Jennifer McAlister spoke about her specialty role as a board certified breast surgeon.
Some volunteers have been serving for many years including B.J. Alison who achieved her 18,000 hours pin. Giving back to the community and hospital, a desire to help others, and providing customer service and compassion to people in need are among the reasons volunteers give for their motivation to serve. “Our 200 adult volunteers are so dedicated and giving,” explained Reese.“We definitely rely on them every day to provide their customary care and support to both patients and visitors.
