A donation in your mother’s name to Pardee Memorial Hospital Foundation supports our community hospital. It is a perfect way to honor your mother or your mother’s memory this Mother’s Day holiday—May 12th. Your gift to the non-profit Pardee Foundation can be given in honor of a specific doctor, nurse or physician’s group. Consider honoring your mother with a gift that keeps on giving quality healthcare services to you, your family, your friends and your neighbors!
The official Mother’s Day holiday arose in the 1900s as a result of the efforts of Anna Jarvis, daughter of Ann Reeves Jarvis. Following her mother’s 1905 death, Jarvis conceived of Mother’s Day as a way of honoring the sacrifices mothers made for their children. Anna Jarvis had originally conceived of Mother’s Day as a day of personal celebration between mothers and families. Her version of the day involved wearing a white carnation as a badge and visiting one’s mother or attending church services. Today, in the U.S., more phone calls are placed on Mother’s Day than on any other day of the year!
