Doctors' Day is March 30, 2019Honor Your Physicians this Doctors' Day
They touched your life.
We invite you to recognize your doctor and give back to your community’s health by honoring your favorite physician or physicians’ group and making a tribute gift to Pardee Hospital Foundation to commemorate Doctors’ Day 2019.
More than 266 physicians, representing 37 medical specialties, call Pardee home. They are drawn to Pardee for its advanced technologies, high level of services and exceptional care in a small community environment. Your charitable gifts will be used to save lives by purchasing life-changing medical equipment and funding programs that help Pardee Hospital continue to provide advanced compassionate care for you, your family, neighbors and friends.
Doctors’ Day was first observed on March 30, 1933 in Winder, Georgia. Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond suggested the date as it commemorated the first use of ether as a general anesthesia in surgery on March 30, 1842 by Dr. Crawford Long in Jefferson, Georgia so Dr. John Collins Warren could surgically remove a tumor from a patient’s neck. In 1990, the United States Senate and House of Representatives designated Doctors’ Day as a national holiday to be celebrated on March 30 each year.
When you make a tribute gift honoring your physician for Doctors’ Day, you can also write a personalized message that we will happily share with your doctor.
Pardee Hospital Foundation annually honors a Physician of the Year at the Gala – A Black Tie Affair; this year on Saturday, June 15. Previous honorees have included Dr. Ken Shelton, Dr. James Caserio, Dr. Stuart Glassman, Dr. Eric Byrd, Dr. Peter Goodfield and most recently, Dr. Betsy Merrell in 2018.
Thank you for joining the grateful patients of our community and around the country by honoring your medical caregiver on Doctors’ Day. There is no deadline for this tribute – any day is a great day to say thank you!
