“My involvement with the Pardee Hospital Foundation has given me the opportunity to learn many things about our sixty-five year old non-profit hospital which has seen much growth and many changes over the years.
Did you know that Pardee is the second largest hospital in Western North Carolina? Pardee receives no county funding and no tax revenue and relies heavily on private support from the community.
We benefit greatly from our affiliation with UNC Health Care with access to the technology and updated medical research they offer, however, we receive no funding from them. The addition of the Pardee Cancer Center in December 2016 prompted most folks in our community to realize that Pardee Hospital is now practicing ‘big time’ medicine! The Elizabeth Riley Breast Center, an integral part of Pardee prior to the Cancer Center, is now a part of the Center where women, AND men, have access to the most advanced breast diagnostic and treatment services available. We now have the only fellowship-trained breast surgeon in Western North Carolina on staff.
New areas of treatment are being added to services offered by Pardee such as the Heart and Vascular program and the Bariatrics and Weight Loss program.
If you would like to know more about these programs, feel free to contact the Pardee Foundation Office and/or schedule a tour of the treatment areas at the hospital.”
